One click to cook, package, and push your Unreal project to Steam. Right from the editor. No batch files, no copy-pasting branch names at midnight.

Ashenex Steam Publisher turns shipping to Steam into a single button inside the Unreal editor. Fill in your AppID and depot IDs once, save them as a named preset, and the plugin handles the cook, package, steamcmd upload, and branch promotion for you.

Highlights

  • One-click publish from the Unreal toolbar. Generates app_build.vdf and per-depot .vdf files from values you set in the editor, drives the cook, stage, and package phases through Unreal's standard packaging pipeline, then uploads via steamcmd.

  • Unlimited build presets. Keep separate configs for Shipping, Internal QA, Public Beta. Each preset stores its own credentials and depots.

  • Pre-Flight Summary before every launch. Reviews every required field, paints missing values, and offers a hard-gate that blocks publish on validation errors.

  • Live progress window. Phase pips, animated progress bar, scrolling steamcmd log with credentials redacted, and a Cancel button. Close it mid-build, the pipeline keeps running.

  • Build History strip. The last ten publish outcomes as colored squares. Click for a per-run summary covering AppID, depots, branch, duration, and final status.

  • Multi-platform depots. Tag each depot Windows, Mac, or Linux. Per-depot install scripts supported.

  • SetLive branch automation. Optionally promote a successful build to a Steam branch you've defined. default is rejected at the editor layer to prevent accidents.

  • Steam Guard 2FA support, Test Login, JSON preset export/import, optional Steam DRM wrap, multi-culture cooking across 39 locales.

  • Auto-downloads steamcmd from Valve on first run. No manual SDK setup.
