Açıklama

VHS Pro is a highly customizable post-processing effect designed to emulate retro analog video aesthetics, authentic VHS tape artefacts, and classic CRT monitor characteristics. The plugin gives developers full creative control over signal degradation, retro color hardware constraints, and lens distortion to effortlessly capture nostalgic 80s, and 90s visual styles, VHS horror, and robot vision vibes. After being Unity’s best-selling VHS effect for over a decade, it is now available for UE5.

Feature Overview

[Noise Pass]

Simulates localized analog corruption and signal interference.

  • Noise Resolution: Controls internal noise density.

  • Tape Noise: Generates multi-layered magnetic tape corruption.

  • Tape Noise Trails: Adds an extra layer of tape noise with stretched tails.

  • Tape Distortion: Introduces screen space and signal color distortion.

  • Line Noise: Emulates subtle, periodic cable flickering.

  • Film Grain: Applies structural brightness static noise.

  • Signal Noise: Adds NTSC-inspired static noise.

[Signal Pass]

Recreates signal color processing adjustments and restrictions.

  • Pixelization: Controls screen resolution quantization.

  • Twitch: Triggers horizontal and vertical screen twitch.

  • Stretchy Lines: Generates floating signal artifacts.

  • Floaty Lines: Drifts low-res grid offsets.

  • Line Gaps/Scanlines: Applies a customizable underlying grid mask.

  • Jitter: Simulates interlaced instability of the signal tracks (Interlacing, 1D Noise, and RGB Noise modes).

  • Signal Tweak: Provides adjustment and restriction of raw analog YIQ ranges.

  • Color Encoding & Dithering: Emulates retro GPU hardware by applying color information reduction and gradient-noise image processing for limited palettes. Supported dithering modes include Game Boy, PS1, IGN, Horizontal, and Vertical lines.

  • Palette: Remaps colors using retro color palettes, supporting built-in presets for iconic hardware such as the Apple II, Atari, CGA, MS-DOS, Game Boy, and NES. Also includes a free custom color palette LUT baker.

[Bleed Pass]

Reproduces color bleeding and signal smearing.

  • Bleed: Features bi- or uni-directional alignment adjustments, tail length and contrast controls, stretch parameters, and various signal profiles.

[Fisheye Pass]

Models curved lens physics and CRT tube framing.

  • Fisheye: Distorts screen space via eight distinct algorithms, including realistic FOVs alongside multi-tiered rectangular, polynomial, cosine, and power variants.

  • Vignette: Adjusts final image framing via a geometric boundary mask supporting parabolic, oval, and circular shapes.
