A neuron is a special cell in the nervous system that carries messages throughout the body.

Cell Body. It is the main part of the neuron and contains important structures that keep the cell alive and functioning.

Dendrite. Dendrites receive signals from other neurons and carry those messages toward the cell body.

Nucleus. It acts as the control center of the neuron and contains the genetic information needed for cell functions.

Axon. It is a long fiber that carries electrical signals away from the cell body to other cells.

Myelin Sheath. It surrounds the axon and helps nerve signals travel faster and more efficiently.

Synaptic Terminals. They pass signals to other neurons, muscles, or glands using chemical messengers called neurotransmitters.

Together, all these parts help neurons receive, process, and transmit information throughout the body.
