Substrate Essentials
This product and its functions are fairly simple in nature, but can be the baseline for much more advanced looks through the new Substrate system. You could consider this as a sort of collection; a collection of real life variables of the materials around us, and these variables can now be used in ways to simulate materials and be far closer to a true scientific representation of the material.
So far this collection is mostly comprised of metals; there are a couple oxidations, and also a handful of glasses and light filters. The materials are listed in enumerations, but are numerically indexed. Given time I have goals to include gemstones, increase the oxidations list, and perchance even add some other unique organics. Though with what is present and given the right bit of elbow grease these real world numbers can be used to create all sorts of interesting fantastical materials.
DISCLAIMER: These materials and well in my personal opinion, all of Substrate, are not game ready nor viable. Now maybe its my flippant use of the system, but the glass materials I have made for demonstration are 5200+ instructions. The basic metals will only run ya 1100+ ,but I do believe I have made my point. I think there is great potential and use, but right now that is more leaned towards renders and scenes without being worried about a player and their FPS.
