Set of Iberian amphorae based on the classical typology of amphorae from the Iberian period in the Valencian Community (Spain). Amphorae are large ceramic vessels characterized by one or two handles and a narrow neck. Accompanied by a stand, unlike the well-known Roman amphorae, in the case presented here, it is evident at first glance that these large ceramic sacks were not conceived or designed to be used as a means of transport. Their large size, their excessively small and not always well-fitting handles, in addition to the fragility of such well-fired ceramics and their poor handling, make these large vases unsuitable and unsafe as travel containers. Therefore, these pieces undoubtedly had a differentiated and secondary use, serving as urns and funerary goods.
