LargeWorld™ is a distance-aware foliage system that puts triangles where they matter. It flips the usual approach: ultra-detailed near field, then aggressively thinned / early-culled mid- & far field with smooth dither fades and color blending. The result is much lower background overdraw and higher FPS in big maps, while the close-up grass stays AAA.
How it works (A-B):
Three distance bands (Near / Mid / Far) with independent density & scale.
Reverse-culling + optional HISM/Nanite presets per band, tuned per platform.
Example performance (internal demo, UE5.3 @1440p):
Uniform dense field -> LargeWorld™ preset: ~25-35% FPS gain and ~40-60% fewer shaded pixels beyond 30 m (hardware, density, and scene complexity will affect results).
