1. Nǚwa
Introducing Nuwa, the divine craftswoman of ancient myths. Celebrated for healing the heavens and molding humanity itself, she weaves the tapestry of life with her hands. As this song unfolds, let it take you back to the dawn of creation, where paints a stroke of her grand design, breathing life into the world anew.
2. A Deer of Nine Colors
In a time long forgotten, a merchant found himself caught in a fierce windstorm, lost and without hope. Just as he was about to give up, he looked up and saw something miraculous: a deer with a coat shimmering in nine different colors appeared out of nowhere. This wasn't just any deer, but a spirit animal that seemed to understand his plight. With a calm presence, it offered him guidance, leading him through the storm as if it were clearing the path itself. The sight of such a magical creature in the midst of chaos not only gave him directions but also reignited the hope within him.
3. Bardo
Standing at the edge of a vast, unknown expanse, with only the echo of your steps for company. Bardo, a concept that speaks of the in-between, the pause before a new beginning. The song takes you on a journey through this intangible space, where stories unfold in the silence between beats. It's about those moments that hover between the end of one chapter and the start of another, painted with broad strokes. No technical jargon, just the pure, raw emotion of being suspended in time, waiting for the next moment to fall.

5. The war of Baiyue
The 'War of Baiyue' is my conceptual score that portrays the mythic battle between the Yue Tribe and the forces of Emperor Qin during the Qin Dynasty in the 20th millennium BC, in Southern China. The piece plunges the listener into a cinematic soundscape filled with the escalating tension between the Qin Empire and the Baiyue people.
From the outset, the music draws you into the standoff, gradually escalating to a full-scale confrontation. As the cavalry launches its charge, the intensity of the music reaches a climax, capturing the tumult and passion of the conflict. At the height of the battle, generals from both sides engage in a dramatic one-on-one duel, culminating in their tragic simultaneous defeat.
6. Jiu Kuang
Enjoying wine and forgetting troubles,
Drunkenly dancing like a flying immortal,
Singing loudly to earth and heaven.
Loving wine and forgetting the body,
Dashing off calligraphy on paper,
Bending over to exhale,
Holding the wine and roaming drunk.
7. Ghosts and Monsters
The song "Ghosts and Monsters" draws its name from the Chinese term 魑魅魍魉, referencing spirits and mythical creatures in ancient Chinese legends, including the mountain spirit, the alluring natural entities known as (Charm), and the aquatic monsters.
I tend to bring these eerie figures to life using a wide array of musical instruments and creative techniques, weaving together characteristics of the mythical with the mundane. By blending traditional Chinese orchestral instruments with conventional Western orchestral, they were both hauntingly familiar and unsettlingly foreign, aiming to mimic the paradoxical nature of ghosts, evoking a mystical aura around the concept of their existence originating from humanity itself.
8. Mountain Dance
In a high mountain pass, a traveler finds himself circled by trickster spirits. They offer him a dice: half marked with 'life', half with 'death'. To cross the mountains, he must roll for his fate. Attempting to flee, he's caught in a whirl of enchanting music and dances, spiraling through visions of life and beyond. Finally, with a deep breath, he rolls the dice, leaving his fate to chance - will he continue his journey, or join the eternal dance of the spirits?
