설명

Greek Trireme

Historical background The trireme was the dominant warship of the ancient Mediterranean, used by Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans. Driven by three banks of oars and armed with a bronze ram at the bow, it was built to strike and disable enemy ships in naval battle. This model reconstructs a Greek trireme, interior and exterior, based mainly on the Olympias, the full-scale reconstruction of an Athenian trireme built in the 1980s. Triremes like it appear in video games such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey and in countless peplum films.

Note: while the general aspect of the ship is faithful to its sources, the exact accuracy of every architectural detail (ropes, some beams, etc.) is not guaranteed at 100%.

Made with archaeological rigor Created by a 3D artist with a master's degree in archaeology, and built from documented historical sources and real-world reconstructions.
