The reason I built the scalability manager is that the scalability system is a very old system of Unreal which is only accessible through a text editor. This makes it error prone and hard to track down any issues.
The tool was designed with the following goals in mind:
getting an overview about all available variables
managing Scalability settings without the need to use text editors
understanding what variables actually do
being able to add custom tooltips so you remember the setup reasons
create Scalability files for different platforms, e.g. PS5 or the UE5 Editor
managing a big amount of data with little effort
high quality blueprint and c++ code so you can change it if you like
It's a tool I would've liked to have myself years ago as it makes one of the most important things when it comes down to shipping a product much easier - getting those FPS up quicker!
If people like this tool, I will use it as a way to teach more in-depth lessons of the scalability system in terms of best practices. I'm happy for any feedback from you!
