Sci fi Technical Computer Hardware futuristic. made in 3dcoat. started as sculpts in vox. converted to polys, decimate retopo except for tracer lines 1 object, then uv'd using 3dcoat uv and packing, painted in 3dcoat paint room. the modeling took one day. the retopo mostly took a day except the tracerlines one object that was hand done in a couple days, then the painting took about 3days.

it was made using quick techniques. made to be produced fast. decimation to retopo was a major factor in quickness but it does sacrifice some quality but quality most people wont even notice. i do as a creator and i think ill not always use this shortcut but i am experimenting with it here to speed up where i can. when i tried to make the tracer lines geo it didnt lend itself well to decimation so i had to explore other options. one was doing it as an flat opacity map which is presnt in this model as tracerlines 2 material. it works and is fast but has no 3d depth other than normal map. so then i decided to half hand retopo one side and project uvs from front with some minor fix areas. that took a couple days by itself.

it should be noted that days here are not full but side project days and subject to interruptions etc. i have a day job as a principal 3d environment artist for a major game company and those days are over 8 hrs and total focus...which would have made this go faster. anyway tmi but i wanted to share the process.
