OVERVIEW
This Unreal Engine project brings to life a post-apocalyptic island ferry, designed as prop that invites exploration across multiple levels, from the weathered cargo deck to the abandoned passenger deck, complete with a hauntingly empty cafeteria and a gritty cockpit overlooking the desolate surroundings.
The ship is assembled in a way that nothing is grouped or blueprinted. Intention is for you as developer or user to have all the freedom to do so in a way you want and are acustomed to.
Set in a bleak, atmospheric world shaped by decay and ruin, the ferry serves as both a versatile gameplay environment and a striking cinematic backdrop. All materials are built with customizable parameters, offering users the flexibility to tweak textures and colors effortlessly.
Most shaders are equipped with parameter functionality, allowing creators to easily customize colors, swap textures, and adjust masks to their liking, whether they aim to evoke a moody, rusted aesthetic or explore bold, surreal tones, making it intuitive and seamless to adapt the visual style of each model and the entire scene to reflect their unique vision.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
It is expected that the buyer possesses knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 shaders and lighting, including how to configure them effectively.
REGARDING INDIRECT LIGHT & FILL LIGHTS
To ensure indirect lighting from the Black Body node works as intended in Unreal Engine, users need to set the console command: r.Lumen.ScreenProbeGather.ScreenTraces to 0 (default is 1). This tweak optimizes Lumen's screen probe gathering to properly reflect the node's emitted light in the scene, which is crucial since the project contains objects with emissive light materials that are used as fill lights with the Black Body node to enhance the environment’s mood and realism.
The project functions perfectly without the Black Body emissive materials, but they’ve been incorporated to simplify and streamline the process of lighting scenes effectively.
