1. What's Included

2. Key Features2.1 Iris & Pupil

  • Independent iris and pupil color (inner / outer + blend)

  • Pupil size and scale

  • Matching shape-preset system on both pupil and iris — Squircle, Diamond, Sides, Depth, Rotate, Triangle

  • Independent iris scale (X / Y)

2.2 Veins & Redness

  • Vein color, scale, strength, thickness

  • Capillary multiplier and vein reach

  • Dedicated back-of-eye redness system — zone size, intensity, reach, fade, noise

2.3 Surface Detail & Patterns

  • Iris roughness, bump strength, distortion, fiber detail (strength / scale / detail / roughness / distortion / noise)

  • Multiple built-in pattern layers — radial lines, rings, noise, cells, wave, brick, magic, cracks

  • Sclera roughness, subsurface weight, eye-wetness controls

2.4 Emission & Glow

  • Every color element — iris inner/outer, pupil, sclera, limbal ring/border, veins, every pattern layer — has its own independent emission strength

  • Built for glowing / supernatural / sci-fi eye designs (switch to Rendered view to preview)

  • Requires the Color Override toggle to be enabled above a color field before edits take effect (see § 5)

2.5 Procedural Surface Geometry

  • Geometry Nodes modifier adds real displaced detail: subdivision level, corneal bulge (height / radius / falloff), pupil depth, iris forward tilt, limbal groove, and more

  • A fast, strong starting point — not a substitute for hand-sculpted photoreal detail (see § 6)

3. Compatibility & Requirements

  • Blender 4.0x + [built & recorded in Blender 4.5.x LTS]

  • Render engine: [confirm EEVEE / Cycles / both]

  • Shader + Geometry Nodes setup only — no external textures or add-ons required

4. Installation

  1. Download the ZIP file. (and extract first)

  2. In Blender: Edit → Preferences → Add-ons → Install from Disk.

  3. Select the downloaded ZIP.

  4. Enable the add-on in the Preferences list.

5. Quick Start

  1. Hit Shift+A (or use the Add menu) → select BPEG Eye.

  2. A fully procedural eye is added to the scene.

  3. Switch the viewport to Rendered shading, open a Shader Editor to find the Principal Eye Shader node.

  4. Adjust any control listed in § 2 directly on that node.

  5. Before changing any color field, enable its Color Override toggle first — otherwise the edit won't apply. This is the most common first-time snag.

  6. For emission/glow effects, confirm you're in Rendered view, then raise the relevant Strength value.

6. Known Limitations

  • This is a procedural base, not a 1:1 replacement for hand sculpting. It will not produce fully photoreal detail on its own.

  • For true photoreal accuracy, manual sculpting on top of the generated base is still recommended.

  • Modifiers (Geometry Nodes detail layer) are Blender-native — apply them before exporting to other software.
