Advanced Triplanar Material with Vertex Paint Blending
And also a version with UV projection

A material featuring triplanar projection with correct normal handling across all axes.
Supports layer blending via Vertex Paint, requires no UVs, and is ideal for environments, rocks, and procedural meshes.
A production-ready solution delivering clean lighting without artifacts.

The UV projection version of the material has the same properties in terms of advanced color control and other settings, and also allows you to mix up to 4 colors using vertex painting.

The UV version also provides extensive control over texture sizes, panning, and rotation.

Normal maps retain their orientation when the texture is rotated and are displayed correctly!
The product includes an example material with four layers: brick, concrete, plaster, and paint.

In addition to the triplanar function and layer blending, the material features specular generation, color customization, and additional adjustable parameters.


Important! When using the triplanar function in your materials, you must disable “Tangent Space Normal” in the material settings. Only in this case will the normal map be displayed correctly in world space.

Please note that triplanar material using 4 layers and all available features will cost approximately 570 instructions.

Triplanar material with one layer will cost 250 instructions.

Material with UV projection and 4 layers costs approximately 300 instructions.
