Black Iron Spine Studios — Targeting & Combat: Plug & Play
Overview
Build readable RPG combat around your own characters and game rules. Targeting, combat components, configurable UI and an editable Draugr training encounter are included in one Unreal Engine 5.8 source plugin.
Features
Cursor and keyboard targeting, self and friendly targeting, focus, overhead markers and selection rings.
Player, selected-target, focus and boss displays; overhead nameplates; health, resources, casts, buffs and debuffs.
Floating damage and healing numbers, combat log, damage/healing meters and local multiple-source threat.
Editable combat stats, damage outcomes, ability examples, regeneration and encounter hooks.
Visibility, layout, appearance and saved-profile controls.
Native C++ and Blueprint integration with 26 complete editable hookup examples.
How buyer integration works
Bind your player and register targetable characters, then connect real health, ability, cast and combat events. Keep your existing health/ability system authoritative, or use the included optional combat components. The examples show both incoming requests and outgoing state. You can replace the demonstration characters, animations, abilities and effects.
Included content
Three rigged Draugr character types—Juggernaut, Gravebinder and Runecaller—with their used materials, animations, example abilities and spell effects. The Ashen Warden is a larger Juggernaut variant for testing boss presentation, not a fourth unique character or a separate boss package.
The training map demonstrates movement, role-specific combat, healing, death and respawn. Its temporary action bar includes Auto Attack, Unbreakable, Ironhide and Kick. Press N to switch the training player between Quinn and Manny without resetting combat state.
First successful test
Enable the plugin and its engine dependencies, enable Show Plugin Content, and open TargetingCombat/Demo/Maps/L_Training. Select a Draugr and use the temporary action bar. Next open BP_BIS_TC_IntegrationExamples or BP_BIS_TC_CombatExtensions and connect one documented example to your own character.
Documentation
Bundled HTML and 34-page PDF buyer guide with 26 authentic full Blueprint graph images, Content Drawer searches, numbered connection steps and expected results.

Compatibility and installation
Unreal Engine 5.8, Windows/Win64. Source code plugin; a supported Unreal C++ build environment is required. Engine dependencies: Text3D, Niagara, Enhanced Input, Control Rig and Animation Compression Library. BIS UI, Dialogue & Interaction and other BIS products are not required.
Scope and limitations
Your game supplies networking, server authority and replication; this is not a turnkey multiplayer combat framework. Included character behavior is an editable starting point. The purchased RPG animation pack and general animation inspection library are excluded. Third-party and Epic example content are identified in the bundled notices.
