Every kingdom has heroes, craftsmen and villagers. But who runs the court? Who spreads the rumors? Who keeps the nobles entertained? And who quietly eliminates people when politics stop being polite? Lords & Intrigue Bundle combines four complete character packs into one collection of aristocrats, performers, officials and suspicious individuals whose business is rarely what it seems on the surface.
At the center of every noble court stand The Nobleman and Noble Lady, both dressed in expensive clothing and carrying themselves with the confidence only inherited wealth can provide. Around them orbit a whole ecosystem of servants, advisors and opportunists. The Estate Manager keeps the books balanced and the taxes collected, while The Tailor works tirelessly to ensure the upper classes remain dressed far better than everybody else.
Entertainment is equally important. The Bard fills great halls with music, poetry and stories of heroic deeds, most of which become considerably more heroic each time they are retold. The Jester provides comic relief and biting social commentary disguised as comedy. After all, a fool is often the only person in the kingdom allowed to tell the truth without immediately losing his head.
Not everybody in this bundle enjoys the spotlight. The Monk seeks wisdom and spiritual enlightenment far from worldly distractions. The Shepherd spends his days tending flocks and minding his own business, making him one of the few genuinely sensible people in the entire collection. The Midwife provides one of the most important professions in any medieval society and is likely aware of more local secrets than all the nobles combined.
Then there are the individuals who keep the wheels of authority turning. The Town Crier ensures every royal decree, tax increase and important announcement reaches the public whether they want to hear it or not. The Executioner handles the kingdom's least popular public service, while The Assassin specializes in solving political problems in a considerably less official capacity.
Together these characters create a living web of power, ambition, gossip and social maneuvering.
