Lore: (ONLY FICTIONAL)

Object 705 –
(Unofficially “ Object-KV” or “705”)

In the same desperate final chapter of the World War II world, when rumors of the American walking fortresses and the other national monsters reached the Soviet Union, the designers responded the only way they knew how: by welding together everything still available into one unbreakable machine. They designated the result Object 705 — a direct continuation of the experimental Object series, built around the heavy heritage of the KV tanks. The heart of the vehicle is the 152.4 mm ML-20SM gun-howitzer taken from the experimental Object 704 self-propelled gun. Its 14.8-foot (4.5 m) barrel fires heavy 49 kg armor-piercing or high-explosive shells at roughly 655 m/s, with a maximum range of about 13 km and a deliberate rate of fire of one to two rounds per minute. The large, fully traversable turret can rotate a complete 360 degrees, allowing the gun to engage in any direction without moving the chassis.Armor and internal components were scavenged without regard for elegance. Thick plates and structural elements from the KV-1 and the massive KV-2 were combined with internals and additional armor sections from the experimental IS-6 heavy tank. The result is a continuous, heavily armored shell that covers the entire machine, including the massive legs. There are no light spots. The legs themselves are especially thickly protected, and the wide, clamp-capable feet can lock firmly into the ground, bracing the vehicle against its own recoil or external impacts so effectively that it is nearly impossible to knock over. A very low and heavy center of gravity further increases this rock-solid stability. The price of all that protection and mass is speed. Object 705 is slow, ponderous, and deliberate — a walking bunker rather than a hunter. It carries no secondary weapons of any kind; every kilogram was devoted to armor, structure, and the big 152 mm gun. Standing approximately 25 feet (7.6 m) tall, the machine is a pure Soviet Frankenstein of the KV and Object lineages: crude, immensely strong, and built in pure desperation to match the American heavy mechs. Only the Soviet system of the time could have produced such a thing — another heavy experimental pulled from the last reserves of a collapsing industrial base. One hundred years later the surviving examples still exist. Slow, almost immovable once their feet are clamped, and wrapped in the combined armor of the KV series and Object 704/IS-6 components, they remain among the hardest of the old monsters to destroy. The last organized Soviet command elements that endure still shelter inside these walking fortresses. It was made from whatever KV and Object parts they still had.
It is slow, heavy, and almost impossible to topple.
And it still stands.
