🎉 UPDATE 2024-05-23: New 98 k Moon with new color texture!
Historical Questions and Reviews (pre-FAB). Have more questions? Please feel free to ask questions in our Discord before purchasing.
Moon 98k offers a highly detailed version of Earth's Moon. There are two versions of the Moon, one with 98k (~98,000 x ~49,000) texture coverage color map and one with a different 80k (~80,000 x 40,000) color texture. The project uses Unreal Engines directional sun for lighting and the atmosphere can be used if stylized atmospheric appearance is desired.
If you like it, please leave a review! Good reviews motivate us to improve the project with the plan below. If you have suggestions for improvements, unsure if this is suitable for your needs or any questions please ask a question and let us know. Thank you!
⭐1 good review → We'll create latitude and longitude lines!
⭐3 good reviews → We'll create and label and outline major features!
Note 1: Please be aware that while many graphical errors have been removed, there remains graphical artifacts from the satellite imagery such as banding and grid lines. Please inspect the gallery images and ask me if you have any questions before purchasing so any possible disappointment can be avoided. Thank you.
Note 2: Due to the way this project is created, there is significant pinching at the poles, so if you are looking to use this for close ups on the North or South Pole this is not suitable for that.
Note 3: This is not suitable for a first person gam/experience, as the collisions sit significantly far away from the ground.
Note 4: The moon is not to realistic scale or elevations, but to that shown in the gallery images.
This project provides the Moon in 3 separate levels.
Moon requires SM6 to be enabled for Nanite if using Unreal Engine 5.1. SM6 is enabled by default in Unreal Engine 5.1.
