Interpretation of the Picture

1. Central Figure: Asclepius, the God of Medicine

He sits on a rock (Oenophilos Stone, symbolizing a sacred place), partially naked, with his right hand raised and his left holding a scepter (a snake scepter, now damaged). His mature beard is his characteristic feature, representing healing and protection.

2. On the Right: Hygeia (the Goddess of Health, daughter of Asclepius)

She wears a Greek-style robe and holds a sacred snake. The snake drinks water from the container in her hand. The sacred snake is the core symbol of health, rebirth, and healing.

3. On the Left: The devotee coming to offer

The worshipper, dressed in a long robe, faces the deity with an respectful posture, representing ordinary people who come to pray for health or to express gratitude after recovery.
