The ridge beast is an animal piece placed on the ridge of the roof of ancient Chinese buildings. It can also be seen on some traditional buildings in Japan and the Korean Peninsula. Among them, the kissing beast or the looking beast is placed on the main ridge, the hanging beast is placed on the vertical ridge, the warping beast is placed on the fork ridge, and the immortal beast is placed on the edge of the roof ridge.
