TECHNICAL BREAKDOWN
Daughter of the Nile Ancient Egyptian Gown
3D Character / Costume Design
GARMENT
Built in Marvelous Designer using a lightweight pleated silk-chiffon blend. Cross-front halter bodice, flowing floor-length skirt with a high side slit, and hand-draped micro pleats simulated naturally under gravity and wind.
ACCESSORIES
Golden armbands, cuffs, and an Egyptian-patterned crown sculpted in ZBrush, retopologized, and baked into normal maps. PBR gold shader with subtle roughness variation for a realistic metal finish.
TEXTURING
Substance Painter, full PBR workflow (Base Color, Roughness, Metallic, Normal, Height, AO). 4K on hero pieces, 2K on secondary props. Custom anisotropic silk shader with subsurface scattering for the fabric.
LIGHTING & RENDER
Rendered in Unreal Engine 5. Warm orange rim light from below paired with a cool purple key light for cinematic contrast, soft fill to keep shadow depth. Bloom, color grading, light film grain, and vignette in post. Final output at 4K.
ENVIRONMENT
Ancient stone temple corridor with weathered, displacement-mapped columns and atmospheric fog for depth.
PIPELINE
Concept → base mesh → garment simulation in Marvelous Designer → retopology/UVs → ZBrush detailing → Substance Painter texturing → UE5 lighting and render → final composite in Photoshop / DaVinci Resolve.
