Procedurally generate complete cities, individual buildings, and street networks — directly inside Unreal Engine 5, no external tools required.
The Intelligent Building Generator lets you create fully-meshed urban environments in seconds. Place a single actor, configure your city layout, click Generate — and get a complete city block with streets, buildings, parking, and street furniture saved as static mesh assets, ready for your materials.
Every asset is saved to your Content Browser and works with any pipeline: stream it, reuse it, swap materials, or build on top of it.
What's Included
7 building types, each with extensive variety:
Residential — Single-family homes and multi-family townhouses with garages, front fencing, terraces, and a range of roof forms and architectural styles including Modern, Craftsman, Mediterranean, and Homestead
Commercial — Office towers and retail complexes in over a dozen footprint shapes, with multiple facade styles, lobby entrance treatments, roof details, and optional front fencing
Apartment — Mid-rise podium-and-tower blocks with balconies, street-facing shopfronts, and detailed rooftop service elements
Small Infill — 1–2 storey kiosks, corner shops, mini-malls, and market stalls with tapered footprints to fill irregular urban gaps
Slum / Informal — Organic compound layouts using corrugated metal, wood, cinderblock, plywood, and mud walls with varied roof pitches per room
Parking Structures — Multi-storey enclosed or open-air garages with switchback ramps, boom gate access points, light poles, columns, and perimeter barriers
Street Networks — Full road grids with main and secondary roads, corner-radius intersections, street light poles, and tapered bus stop bays
Key Features
One-click full city generation via the CityGenActor — configure building counts, road widths, lot distribution, and more, then click Generate
Individual asset generation from Tools → Procedural Buildings in the editor menu — generate any single building or street network standalone without placing actors
Works immediately out of the box — leaving material slots empty causes the plugin to automatically apply its own built-in placeholder materials, so every generated building is fully visible and colour-coded from the first generation. Swap in your own materials whenever you're ready
Material pool system — assign multiple materials per slot; the generator randomly picks from your pool at generation time, giving each building a unique look while staying within your palette
Material pools are persisted — your material selections are remembered between editor sessions
Seeded generation — fixed seeds produce identical output every time; switch to random mode to explore variations
Saves as Static Mesh assets — all output lives in your Content Browser at a path you define, compatible with Nanite, LODs, and any streaming setup
Street furniture — configurable light pole spacing and probability, bus stop bays on main and side roads
Blueprint and C++ accessible — the street graph data structure (FStreetGraph) is exposed to Blueprints for traffic systems, AI navigation, or custom placement logic
