ZDeepLinks – Windows Deep Link Plugin for Unreal Engine
Launch your Unreal Engine application directly from custom web URLs and receive URL data inside Blueprint.
ZDeepLinks provides a simple, Blueprint-friendly way to integrate Windows custom URI deep links into Unreal Engine projects.
A web page, browser, launcher, or external application can open a custom URL such as:
mydemo://preview/?code=1234
Your Unreal application can then read the URL, route, and parameters and use them in your own game or application logic.
Key Features
đź”— Custom URI Deep Links
Launch your packaged Unreal Engine application using a custom URI scheme.
Example:
mydemo://preview/?code=1234
The plugin automatically detects and parses the deep-link URL when the application starts.
🎯 Route Support
Read the route from the incoming URL.
Example:
mydemo://preview/?code=1234
Returns:
preview
Your project can decide what the route means and what action should be performed.
🔑 Query Parameter Support
Read individual parameters directly from Blueprint.
Example:
mydemo://preview/?code=1234&user=John&room=Lobby
You can retrieve:
• code → 1234
• user → John
• room → Lobby
📦 Multiple Parameters
ZDeepLinks supports multiple query parameters within the same deep-link URL.
You can retrieve individual parameters or access the complete parameter array.
🧩 Blueprint-Friendly
No custom C++ implementation is required in your project to read deep-link information.
Blueprint nodes include:
• Is Deep Link Available
• Get Deep Link URL
• Get Deep Link Route
• Get Deep Link Parameter
• Get Deep Link Parameters
• Clear Deep Link
📢 Deep Link Event
Use the built-in:
On Deep Link Received
event to react to incoming deep-link data.
The event provides:
• URL
• Route
• Parameters
⚙️ Configurable Protocol Scheme
Configure your custom URI scheme from:
Project Settings → Plugins → ZDeepLinks
Example:
mydemo
The plugin automatically handles the :// portion.
🪶 Generic Architecture
ZDeepLinks does not impose application-specific behavior.
The plugin only receives and parses the deep link.
Your project controls what each route and parameter does.
This makes the plugin suitable for many types of applications.
Example Use Cases
ZDeepLinks can be used for:
• Login and authentication flows
• Invite links
• Room or session joining
• Content previews
• Launcher integration
• Game mode selection
• Application commands
• Account verification flows
• External website → Unreal application communication
• Browser → Unreal application workflows
Example Blueprint Flow
A typical implementation can be:

Your application remains in control of the actual gameplay or application logic.
Example
Incoming URL:
mydemo://preview/?code=1234
ZDeepLinks provides:
