RetroRender turns your modern Unreal scenes into authentic retro-console renders — low-poly geometry, pixelated

point-sampled textures, reduced colors, ordered dithering, vertex wobble and CRT scanlines — from a single editor

panel, with no C++ required.

Drop the plugin in your project, open the RetroRender panel, and drive the whole style from one place. Bake your

meshes low-poly, retro-fy your textures in batch, drop PP_Retro on a Post Process Volume, pick a preset, and your

scene instantly reads as PS1, N64, PS2 or CRT.

Faking the retro look by hand means decimating every mesh in an external tool, tweaking texture settings one by one,

and rebuilding a post-process stack from scratch. RetroRender does all three — geometry, textures and the on-screen

look — as one coherent, non-destructive pipeline.

⚠️ Important Notes

- The Decimate Baker uses Unreal's mesh-reduction backend — the QuadricMeshReduction plugin (bundled with the engine,

enabled by default).

- The look is a post-process: add PP_Retro to a Post Process Volume to see it. Applying a preset only changes

parameters.

- Material-side affine UVs are an approximation (Unreal exposes no per-pixel noperspective); the authentic PS1 texture

"swim" comes naturally from the low-poly meshes the baker produces.

- Baked meshes are new StaticMesh assets saved to your project; the source meshes are never modified.
