Açıklama

This 100m long Italian steamer was torpedoed by UB 40, the explosion and probable impact with the seabed largely destroying the stern. The vessel settled on its port side with the starboard gunwhale collapsing down to the seabed also on the port side sealing the vessel under its own outer hull. The bow has detached but is otherwise intact, and the reinforced main deck now stands vertically, visible slightly aft of the bow.

Three boilers are visible, with one of the pair of main boilers having rolled across the seafloor. The smaller donkey boiler provided auxiliary power when the main engines were not running, such as in dock.

The inverted triple expansion engine and its cams can be seen aft of the boilers, with the propeller shaft traceable to the rudder assembly at the stern. Note the scour pattern in this area, revealing the site formation processes that have led to the present state of this century old wreck site.
