The Court of Final Appeal Building on Jackson Road, Hong Kong, was opened in 1912 and housed the Supreme Court at that time. The Building was used as the Supreme Court and other courts and government offices except during the Japanese occupation and the period between 1978 and 1981 when the Supreme Court was temporarily moved to the former French Mission Building. In 1984, the Supreme Court moved to the current High Court Building (formerly called “the Supreme Court Building”) in Queensway. The Building was used as the Legislative Council Chamber and associated facilities from 1985 until 2011 when the Legislative Council moved to its current premises in Tamar.
