UEFN source assets coming to Fab

Starting next month, Fab will offer Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) source assets—complete, editable systems for creating experiences in Fortnite that go beyond reference files.

UEFN source assets open directly in UEFN and can be built on right away, cutting down time spent replicating systems that already exist.

If you’re working in UEFN—or want to give it a try—these assets can help you build out environments and gameplay mechanics for Fortnite islands faster.

What are source assets?

Source assets are assets or systems that can be built with Verse and Scene Graph, including AI and NPC behaviors, vehicles, weapons, UI, and more. They are:
  • Fully editable: Open and edit the underlying system directly in UEFN rather than working from reference-only files.
  • Verified: The Fab team reviews every source asset to ensure it meets UEFN technical standards before it’s published.
  • Available in-engine: If you’re developing in UEFN, you can find, license, and add source assets from Fab directly within UEFN.

Fab publishers: Start listing your UEFN source assets

Fab publishers can begin uploading UEFN source assets today in advance of the release on October 15. For all the information on requirements and guidelines, check out our documentation.
