The Modular Spaceship Construction Kit allows you to create and edit Spaceships at runtime. Built on top of Third Person Template for maximum game flexibility, this runtime editor comes with 62 Modules with their own base meshes that you can drag and drop and stick to each other to facilitate tinkering and elicit the feeling of building a physical model. Ships can be saved to file and piloted

Through keyboard and mouse inputs you can add, select, move, connect, disconnect, duplicate and delete modules. You can also select multiple modules for easier moving around of complex assemblies.

The sticky nodes come in the types Habitat Open, Habitat Door, Equipment and Rotator, are color coded and glow on connection. They connect in pairs Back/Forward, Right/Left, Top/Bottom, except for the Rotator nodes which rotate the whole module. There is also the possibility of adding custom connector meshes for modules that require it.

After building, you can pilot your own ships, shoot (if you mounted weapon) and damage other ships. You can target (with communication modules), and repair (with repair modules).

Each module has a collection of stats (Hull, Power, Comm, Fuel, Cargo, Thrust, Shield, Crew, Mass, Repair, Module Price) plus there are stats for the weapon turrets which are all used (Name, Damage, Tracking Speed).

As the editor is quite large, most documentation is in the form of blueprint comments, please see the full list of features below.

This Blueprint asset assumes you have an intermediate to advanced level understanding of blueprints. That knowledge is not necessary to use the Ship Editor as is presented, but it is expected that it should be modified to fit a final product, for example: integrating it with your UI and Gameplay solutions.
