A simple and effective automated turret blueprint complete with a highly detailed, uniquely-styled Sci-Fi turret! This project contains a well-commented blueprints to guide you through the use of the included turret and blueprint logic.

Demo

The primary selling point of this product is the Turret. It is a highly-detailed, well modelled asset with plenty of style to boot! The model features a weathered texture rich in character, coming together with the hap-hazard wiring and to create a rustic, simple-Sci-Fi-Tech vibe. The textures are not replaceable, you cannot change the colors or details. You can swap out the maps for 512, 1024, 2048 (Default) or 4096 resolution maps as needed.

The turret is not animated! The turret moves to align with targets but it is NOT animated further. The parts rotate at different speeds to add a mechanical feel but there are NO SKELETAL MESHES here.

PLEASE NOTE: This product is NOT multiplayer ready. The logic included is perfectly adequate for a light-performance Tower Defense game but it is certainly not ready for use in a performance-demanding project. This is because the BP uses Tick events consistently and would therefore not scale-up well for use in an already heavy project. You are highly advised to replace the system with your own, perhaps a Blueprint Interface based system. The BPs are commented well so you can easily remove and swap things out.

Blueprints include:

  • T1-Turret! An Auto-Turret with auto-target tracking, alignment, and fire. Finds new targets and continues. Editable variables include radius, rate of fire, and damage amount. Audio that attenuates as you move away from turret. Complex logic.

  • you can modify the fire rate, radius (range), damage dealt and rotation speeds of the components.

  • Bullet with collision logic. Super simple.

  • Spawner to deploy targets. Super simple.

  • Targets that auto-walk forward and ragdoll on death. Super simple.

The project utilizes the Starter Content Epic provides so be careful when you add it to your projects as it will attempt to overwrite assets with the same names; if you've modified the names of the starter content assets you are using, you're clear.
